Bringing My Watercolors Across the Border
After the wonderful experience of exhibiting my watercolors in my hometown of San Fernando (Cádiz), I had the unexpected opportunity to take the very same collection a bit farther—across the border into Gibraltar. Many of our friends and family in Gibraltar couldn’t make the trip to Cádiz to see the show, and they often asked if I would consider exhibiting locally. The idea took root quickly, and before I knew it, everything was in motion.
Thanks to the warm support and coordination with Gibraltar’s Department of Culture, I was able to organize my first exhibition on the Rock at one of its most established venues: John Mackintosh Hall, right in the heart of Main Street. From the moment it was announced, the show was met with enthusiasm, and I was honestly moved by the positive response—from friends, visitors, and the media alike.
Opening Night
The opening ceremony was unforgettable. It was an honour to be introduced by Christian Santos, Gibraltar’s Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, who gave a generous and thoughtful speech. The event was beautifully complemented by a live performance of classical cello music by my friend Masha Miska, whose talent and energy brought an intimate elegance to the room. A small reception with drinks and snacks created the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the art and connect with those who attended.
Media Coverage & Interviews
I was pleasantly surprised by the level of media coverage the exhibition received. The Gibraltar Chronicle dedicated an article to the event, highlighting my approach to light, color, and everyday scenes. I also had the chance to appear on local television through GBC News, where a segment on the show aired in their prime-time bulletin. Later that week, I was interviewed on The Hub, GBC’s lifestyle and interview program, where we talked about my creative process and the inspiration behind this collection.

A Look Back
Below you’ll find a selection of photos from the opening night, a short video from the TV coverage, and the official poster for the exhibition. It was truly a pleasure to share these “nooks of light and colour” with so many people in what I now consider my adoptive home. I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.
