Watercolor Painting: On a wild goose chase.

Capturing a Victorian Atmosphere in Watercolor

On a Wild Goose Chase was painted as a personal gift to my wife, a true enthusiast of Victorian-era films. The composition evokes a rural atmosphere inspired by classic scenes, with strong contrasts of light and shadow to convey mood and depth.

This piece is especially meaningful to me, as it marked the beginning of a new chapter in my artistic journey after many years away from watercolor painting. It was also a technical challenge—painted on standard drawing paper rather than watercolor-specific paper, which created some difficulties during the process.

Despite the complications, it holds a special place in my collection and served as the catalyst that brought me back to watercolor.

Final Thoughts

This painting was the first spark of a renewed artistic path—imperfect, but honest and full of intention. It reminded me that it’s never too late to return to something you love, and that even technical limitations can lead to meaningful outcomes.
